Prof. Ken Ii |
OVERVIEW We will offer a new one year training program for female students in Asia and Africa starting in the autumn 2010. We will accept five graduate students who study environmental sciences, human behavior sciences, and biotechnology, or who are interested in ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in this program. The purpose of this program is to educate women leaders who will promote ESD based on their local communities of their home countries. This program is financially supported by Japan Science and Technology Agency, and the trainees will study together with five Japanese graduate students. The curriculum contains an internship opportunity at a local NPO LEAF (Learning and Ecological Activities Foundation for Children) in Nishinomiya city, and special live lectures via Internet by the professors of various universities in Asia. The trainees will also receive a certificate from the president of Kobe College. We hope the trainees will lean in practical ways how Japanese women contribute to the establishment of environment friendly communities that promote sustainable development. We also hope the students who complete this program will promote ESD in their local communities. |
